one of my favorite movies, john ford’s, “the quiet man,” starring john wayne and maureen o’hara.
it’s beautifully shot in ireland. the music is wonderful. this movie made me want to speak in an irish dialect! the supporting cast is one of the strongest, headlined by barry fitzgerald and victor mcclagen.
this is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. john wayne is a stud and maureen o’hara is at her most beautiful.
this movie also has one of the longest fight sequences on film.
in the words of my friend, john levy, “The Empress has ascended.”

my brother’s friend and his friend’s girlfriend were killed by a drunk driver driving on the opposite side of the freeway last year. this event helps the families raise money to have a memorial placed near the accident site.
